Sangria
(Waiting Version)
The following I mix the wines. If I use Syrah by itself, its too sweet. Pinot Grigio by itself and I have to add sugar so I use both which makes a very large batch. If you want to use just 1 bottle, just use half of the ingredients.
750 ml bottle of Pinot Grigio
750 ml of Syrah
1 1/2 Cups Triple Sec
1 Cup Raspberry Liquor
1 1/2 Cups Orange Juice
16 oz Clear soda (Sierra Mist, Sprite or Tonic Water) add more if needed
4 Lemons
4 Apples
2 Pears
(other fruit can be used too. Sometimes I might add what I find in the fridge)
Container(s) to mix/store
Cut up fruit and place in the container(s) squeezing the lemons over the apples. Add the fluids, stir and let sit 24-48 hours in the refrigerator with an occasional stir the next day or two. Pour over glasses of ice to serve.
I keep the wine bottles to store any that will not be consumed after the 24/48 hours (after removing the fruit). If you let this sit too long with the fruit, it will get a little thick.
